Position Summary:
The Learning Specialist is a 12-month full-time, exempt, position at South Seattle Community College. Continuation of this position beyond August 31, 2017 is contingent upon continued grant funding.

Teach, counsel, and mentor high school students enrolled in the Upward Bound program. During the school year these activities occur at the assigned target high school. During the summer, these activities occur at South Seattle Community College. Major components of the position include developing curriculum and teaching classes; providing college admissions and financial aid assistance; coordinating college and career-related field trips; and providing individual tutoring and academic advising. The program’s ultimate objective to have all of our student participants succeed in college and earn an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree.
