Nature Vision BannerNature Vision is seeking a well qualified Substitute Teacher to provide exceptional preschool programming at the Farm and Nature Preschool at Farrel McWhirter Park in Redmond.  Our mission is to provide an engaging, nurturing environment where children can learn through play and exploration, both indoors and in the beautiful, unique setting of the park.  Immersed in a rich world of creativity, language, science and math, we give children the opportunity to engage their heads, hands, and hearts and develop a lifelong love of learning and stewardship.  Nature Vision provides three weekly classes for Preschool students from September-May annually: Creative Play for ages 3.5-4.5, Preschool Adventures for ages 3.5-5, and Pre-K Discoveries for ages 4-5.  Classes take place partly  indoors and partly outdoors each day.  For full information, please visit http://www.naturevision.org/farm-and-nature-preschool/ .

Position description

Duties include but are not limited to: 
·         Working and teaching collaboratively with Preschool teachers
·         Prep and clean-up of materials
·         Assisting with classroom management and preschool discipline
·         Modifying and adapting curriculum to meet the needs of the children 

Start Date:  September 2016

Hours: As needed

Salary: $17.00/hour, non-benefitted

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or experience in Environmental Education, Interpretation, Life Science, Early Education or related field; combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to teach a preschool program indoors and in the field with groups of students in varying weather conditions.   Must be enthusiastic, energetic and passionate about working with children.

Special Requirements: Must maintain current Adult, Child and Infant CPR/AED and First Aid certificates. Must possess a valid Washington State Drivers’ License and own insured vehicle to drive to field sites. May need to occasionally lift objects up to 50 lbs.
