Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Climate Change and Food

Working Group II of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change 5th Assessment Report that climate change will bring Risk of food insecurity and the breakdown of food systems linked to warming, drought, flooding, and precipitation variability and extremes, particularly for poorer populations in urban and rural settings.”  The fall 475/586 seminars will bring speakers from a variety of disciplines to discuss the climate change, food systems, as well as the interaction of the two.  Readings will prepare the students for the seminars and the following discussions.  Undergraduates enrolled in 475 will also do research projects where they will integrate primarily literature to focus on one aspects of food and climate
