Specific Duties

  • Maintain and improve a quality program of instruction
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate classroom instruction and activity programs consistent with building and adopted district curriculum
  • Manage/maintain the CHS chemistry storage area
  • Diagnose and prescribe learning programs for individuals and groups of students based on aptitude, interest and level of achievement
  • Provide for individual needs of assigned students, cooperate with building principal and staff in implementation of comprehensive instructional activities program
  • When appropriate, provide individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual abilities, attitudes, and cultural backgrounds


  • Bachelor of Arts degree in the field of education
  • A valid Washington State teaching certificate
  • Appropriate endorsements
  • Ability to establish positive discipline procedures
  • Ability to establish relationships with students, parents, and community
  • Must meet Highly Qualified Teacher requirements


  • Successful teaching experience at the high school level
  • A demonstrated knowledge of physical science, physics, and chemistry instruction
  • A demonstrated knowledge of integrating technology into curriculum
  • A demonstrated ability to work well with people from a variety of backgrounds
  • A demonstrated ability to motivate, discipline, and interact with students in a productive manner
